“I am the special ingredient!”

Posted in Travels by Jane Griffiths on the August 17th, 2011

“I am the special ingredient!” is the quote on the back of the chef’s T shirt in the open plan kitchen at Xudum camp in the Okavango Delta. And does he live up to it. I have just arrived back from six days in the Delta – travelling via bumpy little planes, even bumpier landies, fast speed boats and slow makoros, I have had the most magical and wondrous time.
Watch this space for more! As soon as I get home I will be adding photos and delicious details . . .

Hi Jane, I agree a trip to the Okavango Delta is magical and wondrous! I’ve just received your book for my bday. I am thrilled and relieved to see your ‘jungle style’. As my beloved hubby is a true perfectionist, the only way for him is a perfectly ordered, structured veg garden where he is in control. I’ve always wrangled with my consience as my heart and soul want ‘free jungle style’ but to him it’s just a mess! I feel guilty and a failure when my garden wants to run it’s course. Ahh, now I know it’s FINE to listen to nature and let the plants grow haphazardly and look a bit ‘deurmekaar” and how I will enjoy it. Jungle garden here I come – Thanks Jane – I Love your Book!

I’m really enjoying your book which I hope to use to help grow veg for market as well as the table. I could do with some financial aid, and this is one route I am taking to provide for my family.

The blog looks like fun, so I’ll be popping in here too!

Keep up the great life – it’s inspirational…
